Academic Pursuits
The McGovern Center for Leadership and Public Service endorses several DWU majors and minors that apply to fields in the public service sector. Students interested in securing a career in humanitarian outreach, public policy, or political service are encouraged to discuss options with McGovern Center faculty.

McGovern Center director Dr. Alisha Vincent’s academic expertise is in nonprofit administration and leadership and she oversees the nonprofit administration major and minor at DWU and also teaches courses that include leadership, public policy, social justice, global service, and international outreach. Most of Vincent’s courses include exciting opportunities to apply classroom experience to real-world issues in our local, regional, and global communities.
