Education History: Master of Arts in Counseling from Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska, Bachelor of General Studies (Double Major: English & Psychology; Minor: Interpersonal Communication) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha 

Professional History: I started working in the Behavioral Health field 30 years ago, and I became a licensed therapist in 2004 in Nebraska. The majority of my career was spent in residential, long term, treatment centers for adolescents and adults including four years on an acute psychiatric unit of a hospital in Omaha. I held a variety of clinical supervisory and staff training positions during my years in residential. I started working in private practice in 2016.
Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health (LPC-MH) South Dakota 2018 - Current.

Areas of Expertise: Addiction Recovery for Individuals and Families, Adjustment Concerns (Change is hard...even "good" change), Conflict Resolution (Communication is hard sometimes), Depression and Anxiety (Life gets us down, and we worry), Overcoming Trauma (Bad and scary things really do happen)

Hobbies: I love gardening, camping, fishing, reading, snow skiing, and traveling.

Family: I have two beautiful daughters (Danielle and Mandy) and four amazing grandchildren (Jonathan, Jenasis, Jaelynne, and Juliana). My four legged children include Loki (black German Shepherd), Benny (Australian Shepherd), and Bunny (a bunny). My parents live in the Omaha area, and my in-laws live in Arizona.

What do you love most about DWU?: I love being part of an organization that is so deeply invested in helping students accomplish their dreams and goals.
