Professional History: Farney teaches courses in physics, mathematics and astronomy. His current work beyond the classroom takes him to local school districts many times each year to encourage the young to become involved in scientific research, mathematics research and engineering, as he is also the director of the South Central South Dakota Science and Engineering Fair, held on the campus of DWU each spring.
