Dr. Sean J. Flynn, professor of history and political science, has taught with DWU since 1999. He earned his Ph.D. and Master of Arts degrees from Texas Tech University, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from South Dakota State University. He has been awarded the United Methodist Church General Board of Higher Education and Ministry Teaching Excellence Award and the Clarke Award for Teaching Excellence Award. He has written three books: “Mission to Germany: William ‘Bud’ Gassen and the 457th Bomb Group” (2010), “Chief, Marine Corps Warrior” (2003), and his forthcoming work, “Without Reservation: Ben Reifel and American Indian Acculturation.”
