Mitchell High School Students
Bridge Year Program
DWU Bridge Program Benefits
What's great about the Bridge program? Many things!
- You'll be on campus, taking classes in person with DWU college students and teachers that will guide and support you along the way.
- You'll meet with your DWU adviser to select classes and discuss goals, so you can align your earned college credits with your future plans.
- Like every other DWU student, you'll receive an iPad to use for homework and class projects.
- You'll earn college credits that can transfer to any accepting college or university.
“My experience at DWU as a Bridge student has been absolutely wonderful. I was nervous I might be seen differently as a high school student, but instead, they included me. I not only
gained college experience, but also friendships.”
- Kyra Gropper
Eligibility Requirements
- 3.0 GPA
- Good attendance record
- Recommendation from high school counselor
- Must maintain a 'C' in all DWU courses
How the Bridge Program Works
- All courses are taken on Dakota Wesleyan’s campus.
- Class space can be limited, and admittance is based on availability.
- You will be held to the same standard as DWU students, such as grading and attendance, and must agree to comply with DWU rules and policies.
- You must take four classes at DWU.
- Future attendance at DWU is not a requirement. You can transfer your credits to any accepting college or university. While all classes are intended to be highly transferable, other institutions of higher education apply varying credit evaluation policies in determining acceptability and applicability of courses.
