Scholarship Opportunities
Mitchell Scholarship
Every full-time, on-campus DWU student receives a scholarship. Academic scholarship amounts are based on your high school GPA. As an incoming Mitchell High School graduate, you will receive an additional annual scholarship, just for being an MHS grad! The Mitchell Scholarship amount will be based on your high school GPA and range from $2,500 to $4,500. The annual amount will be equally divided between the fall and spring semesters, and will be awarded each year until you graduate.
Interested in being a teacher? If you major in Education at DWU, you'll receive an additional scholarship for your junior and senior years. The scholarship amount will be based on your DWU GPA and range from $2,000 to $3,000.
AND if you are interested in athletics, music, theatre, campus ministry, esports or other DWU activities, you may qualify for even MORE scholarship opportunities!

Mitchell Scholarship Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
When does the Mitchell Scholarship begin?
Made possible by the DWU Musick Endowment Funds, the Mitchell Scholarship begins your freshman year and continues for 10 semesters.
Will I be required to live on campus?
No. While all DWU students are encouraged to live on campus, it is not required in order to receive the Mitchell Scholarship. However, DWU institutional aid is reduced for students living off campus.
Will I still be eligible for other scholarships?
Yes! You will still be eligible for additional scholarship opportunities if you participate in athletics, music, theatre, esports, campus ministry, and/or receive academic scholarship awards or outside scholarships.
However, if you receive a scholarship that covers tuition at 100%, you will not receive the Mitchell Scholarship as additional funds. This may happen if you receive full academic or athletic funding. Down the road, if your scholarship amount changes, you will be able to add the Mitchell Scholarship as an additional scholarship.
What do I need to do to get the Mitchell Scholarship?
It's pretty easy!
1. Graduate from Mitchell High School.
2. Apply to DWU. (It's always free to apply to DWU!)
3. Send your transcripts and qualify.
That's it. No separate application or interview needed.
