DWU to present Christmas musical events

Members of the Mitchell community and surrounding areas will be warmly welcomed to Dakota Wesleyan University’s holiday music events.

MITCHELL – Members of the Mitchell community and surrounding areas will be warmly welcomed to Dakota Wesleyan University’s holiday music events.

The Ron and Sheilah Gates Department of Music will come together to perform this year’s Christmas at Dakota Wesleyan concert, “Sing We Now of Christmas!”

The concert will include multiple musical selections with performances by the Highlanders, Wesleyan Band, DWU Jazz Band and Wesleyan Bells.

The concert is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. in the DWU Sherman Center.

A second event, a performance of Handel’s “Messiah,” will take place on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 4 p.m. This holiday offering will be performed by a combined student and community choir with accompaniment by the LyricWood orchestra, consisting of DWU students, employees and nearly 50 community members.

Tickets for each performance are $10 and may be purchased online at store.dwu.edu/concert, by calling 605-995-2603 or at the door the day of the performance. Seating is limited so advance ticket purchase is encouraged.
