Graduate Assistant Sports Information

Dakota Wesleyan University is a member of the NAIA and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Dakota Wesleyan is currently seeking applications for a Graduate Assistant in the Sports Information Department. This person will be responsible for assisting the Director and Assistant Director of Sports Information in daily duties, including writing press releases, creating graphics, game-day management, and maintaining our official website. Stipend and 2/3rd tuition remission towards a degree in the Master’s in Education program is available.

Successful candidates should display integrity, have a passion for college athletics, must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed, and have a demonstrated commitment to the mission of DWU and our values of learning, leadership, faith, and service.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree and a strong background in writing and communications. A successful candidate will know about several statistic programs and design applications (PrestoSports, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and InDesign). Gameday duties will include setting up video, statistical, and photography equipment, creating and distributing game day programs, typing and or calling stats, organizing game workers, and gathering all postgame information in correct files for the Director and Assistant Director of Sports Information and the opposing team's sports information department. Candidates will be asked to manage student workers on game day. Candidates will cover multiple sports during the academic and athletic year.
