MITCHELL – Dakota Wesleyan University will bring another unique astronomy experience to campus with multiple showings of “Parade of Planets + Blood Moon.” Four showings will be presented Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Corrigan Health Sciences Center at 2, 3, 4 and 6 p.m.
Those attending will take a tour of the planets inside the Florence Glenny Farney Planetarium Dome, have a question-and-answer time and then be shown how to see both the actual Parade of Planets happening in the skies that evening, as well as the Blood Moon on March 3.
This planetarium show is suitable for adults and children ages 3 and older.
Space is limited and registration is required by visiting this link. There is no cost for this event.
After the final show of the day, if the sky is clear and the temperature comfortable, the astronomers will bring out the telescopes for a viewing of the planets. Everyone is welcome at 6:30 p.m. in the field south of the Corrigan Health Sciences building. No sign-up is required for the outdoor event but check the weather first.
Updates on this event will be shared on DWU Astronomy’s Facebook page.
