Dakota Wesleyan University announces the appointment of Julie Brookbank to the position of associate director of communications.
Brookbank, a 1983 graduate of DWU with a degree in speech, communications and theatre, comes to the university from Mitchell Technical College (MTC), where she served in a variety of positions since 1991, most recently as vice-president for foundation relations.
Fredel Thomas, DWU vice president of admissions and marketing, is pleased to welcome Brookbank to the admissions and marketing team.
“Julie brings a wealth of experience to our communications efforts. Her work in higher education has received national acclaim for MTC and we are excited to have her join us to help in many areas of promoting DWU,” Thomas said.
In addition to her work at the university, Brookbank serves on a number of boards and committees in the region including Avera Queen of Peace Board of Directors; Mitchell Community Scholarship Fund Board of Directors; Area Community Theatre volunteer; and the Lake Hanson Board of Directors.
Brookbank and her husband, Philip Picha, live in Mitchell.
