DWU announces winners from Fall Scholarship Day

Dakota Wesleyan University recently announced fall scholarship winners for the class of 2021.

 

27 high school seniors competed earlier this month during DWU’s Fall Scholarship Day on Dec. 4 for the university’s most prestigious scholarships. Students with outstanding academic status, leadership potential and commitment to serving others were invited to campus to meet with faculty, staff and students, all while exploring opportunities at DWU.

 

The following is a list of Presidential Leadership and Randall Scholarship winners – DWU’s most competitive scholarships:

 

Presidential Leadership Scholarship winners:

To qualify for a Presidential Leadership Scholarship, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and a 21/980 ACT/SAT score and must meet certain leadership/service qualifications. The scholarship is $68,000 over four years.

Keesha Letcher, Bridgewater, Bridgewater-Emery High School, is the daughter of Jill and Todd Letcher

Laney Titze, Mitchell, Mitchell High School, is the daughter of Cindy and Mike Titze

 

Presidential Leadership Scholarship Winners

 

Randall Scholarship winners:

To qualify for a Randall Scholarship, students must have at least a 3.5 GPA and a 24/1090 ACT/SAT score and must meet certain leadership/service qualifications. The scholarship is $84,000 over four years.

Mesa Bartmann, Montrose, Montrose High School, is the daughter of Jaimie and Joseph Bartmann

Khasidy Raelyn Hodge, Missoula, Mont., Frenchtown High School, is the daughter of Brook and Josiah Hodge

Elisabeth Ortiz, Sturgis, Sturgis Brown High School, is the daughter of Kristi and Joel Ortiz

Adaya Plastow, Mitchell, Mitchell High School, is the daughter of Pamela and Robert Plastow

 

Randall Scholarship Winners

 

DWU also awarded John Wesley, Trustee and Presidential Scholarships to deserving students.

The following is a list of John Wesley, Presidential and Trustee Scholarship winners:

 

John Wesley Scholarship winners:

To qualify for a John Wesley Scholarship, students must have at least a 3.7 GPA and a 27/1210 ACT/SAT score. The award is for $13,000 to $14,750 and is renewable for up to 10 semesters if the student remains in good standing.

Peyton Bagley, Rapid City, Rapid City Central High School, is the daughter of Lisa and Kirk Bagley. Bagley was also awarded an athletic scholarship.

Aidan Feser, Yankton, Yankton High School, is the son of Chasity and Aaron Feser. Feser was also awarded an athletic scholarship.

Addison Fleischman, Edgerton, Minn., Edgerton Public High School, is the daughter of Bobbi Jo and Andrew Fleischman

Rachel Johnson, Sioux Falls, Sioux Falls Christian High School, is the daughter of Kimberly and Phil Travers and Delmar Jensen

Kenedy Koepsel, Canova, Howard High School, is the daughter of Tonya and Nick Koepsell

Sarah Parsons, Milesville, Philip High School, is the daughter of Jodi and Earl Parsons

Kerrigan Schultz, Emery, Bridgewater-Emery High School, is the daughter Christena and Scott Schultz. Schultz was also awarded an athletic scholarship.

Gracie Wenzel, Arthur, Neb., Arthur County High School, is the daughter of Kimberly and Travis Wenzel

 

John Wesley Scholarship Winners

 

Presidential Scholarship winners:

To qualify for a Presidential Scholarship, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and an 18/860 ACT/SAT score. The award is for $8,750 to $13,000 and is renewable for up to 10 semesters if the student remains in good standing.

Chloe Cink, Brooklyn Park, Minn., Park Center Senior High School, is the daughter of Heather Miller-Cink and Kevin Cink. Cink was also awarded an athletic scholarship.

Gracie Olivier, Onida, Sully Buttes High School, is the daughter of Jessica and Michael-John Olivier

Luke Osweiler, Waseca, Minn., Waseca High School, is the son of Sheryl and Michael Osweiler

Aubrey Ratka, Foley, Minn., Foley High School, is the daughter of Pam and Mark Ratka

Eli Rhodes, Lincoln, Neb., Lincoln Southwest High School, is the son of Stephanie and Travis Roberts. Rhodes was also awarded an athletic scholarship.

Lauren Sanderson, Bloomington, Ill., Normal Community High School, is the daughter of Tisa and Jason Sanderson. Sanderson was also awarded an athletic scholarship.

Megan Soukup, Avon, Avon High School, is the daughter of Shirley and Troy Soukup

Jaden Warner, Sioux Falls, Sioux Falls Washington High School, is the son of Cory and Gerri Warner. Warner was also awarded an athletic scholarship.

Jacob Williams, Huron, Wolsey-Wessington High School, is the son of Amy and Nate Williams

To qualify for a Trustee Scholarship, students must have at least a 3.5 GPA and a 24/1090 ACT/SAT score. The award is for $12,000 to $13,750 and is renewable for up to 10 semesters if the student remains in good standing.

Bennett Dean, Pierre, Pierre T.F. Riggs High School, is the son of Jill and Greg Dean. Dean was also awarded an athletic scholarship.

Tess Jones, Verndale, Minn., Verndale Public School, is the daughter of Alicia and Matt Jones

Lane Miller, Howard, Howard High School, is the son of Sara and Ryan Miller

Bailey Spaans, Armour, Armour High School, is the daughter of Angela and Jay Spaans.
