DWU music adding ‘outdoor twist’ to Fall Concert

The Ron and Sheilah Gates Department of Music at Dakota Wesleyan University will be coming together for a full day of music on Sunday, Oct. 18.

 

The afternoon will begin with the Dakota Wesleyan Choirs (Tiger Trebles and Singing Scotchmen) and The Highlanders performing outdoors at 2 p.m. in front of the McGovern Library on the DWU campus. Audience members are welcome to attend the outdoor concert and are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket and sit in the natural berm on the quad. The outdoor concert will be livestreamed as well, via Facebook live on the Dakota Wesleyan University Facebook page. 

 

Following the choir performance, The Wesleyan Band and Wesleyan Bells will be performing at 5 p.m. inside the Sherman Center to a ticketed, socially distanced crowd consisting of performers’ families only.

 

The 5 p.m. concert inside the Sherman Center will be livestreamed via DWU's livestream link - www.dwu.edu/live. The general public is encouraged to tune in to the livestream event at 5 p.m.

 

The Choirs and The Highlanders will be directed by Dr. Clinton Desmond with Erin Desmond as the accompanist.  The Wesleyan Band will be directed by Dr. Bethany Amundson and the Wesleyan Bells will be directed by Erin Desmond.
