The Dakota Wesleyan University Future Teachers’ Organization (FTO) will host its 22nd annual Dr. Seuss Carnival from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 22, in the L.B. Williams Elementary commons and gym area.
“The Dr. Seuss Carnival is a fun, family event designed to celebrate Read Across America Week,” said FTO advisor, Stephanie Gelderman. “The event features a variety of Dr. Seuss-themed games and each child goes home with a book at the end of the event. Our students are excited for the opportunity to give back to the Mitchell community and we are thrilled to be partnering with the DWU football team again this year.”
The DWU football team, along with other students, staff and faculty, will be running games and activities and reading to kids during the carnival.
This event is free and open to pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade children. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
“I think this carnival is a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Kids get to come out and play games, win prizes, read books and hang out with Dr. Seuss characters!” said FTO officer, Morgan Osthus.
