Kristy Martin of Mitchell has been appointed to the Dakota Wesleyan University Board of Trustees.
Martin, a Mitchell native, is the president of KRM-IT, Inc., and a founding partner of SoDak Smart Tech LLC.
Martin has had a wide variety of experience in the field of software development, finance, technical support, customer training, administration, and management. For over 16 years, she worked for a nationwide leader of software solutions, business services, and engineering resources. Since that time, she has worked with small businesses in the Mitchell, S.D. area to provide technology and software solutions and services.
In 2006 she formed KRM-IT Inc., which draws on her over 30 years of experience in the technology field. Most recently in 2018, Martin formed SoDak Smart Tech with a partner, which offers unified automation solutions for home and business, including audio/video, lighting, and security in the eastern South Dakota region.
Martin holds a BSEE degree from South Dakota State University. She has served two terms on the Mitchell Area United Way board and has volunteered to provide custom software and support for the annual Mitchell Christian School charity auction.
Martin resides in Mitchell and is pleased to support DWU as a Board of Trustees member honoring several family alumni including her mother Janet Martin (1981), and niece and nephew Matthew Krall (2018) and Taylor Krall (2019).
