Dakota Wesleyan University Athletics announces the resignation of head cheerleading coach Traci Loecker today. Loecker took the helm of the DWU cheerleading program in 2013.

During her time at DWU, Loecker took on all responsibilities in managing sideline cheer for all home DWU basketball and football games. Duties included recruiting, managing budgets, fundraising, training, pep-rallies, team spirit activities and much more.

“We are extremely grateful for all that Traci has done for the program, department, and University over the years.” Stated Jon Hart, Director of Athletics. “She brought a strong passion for DWU and worked hard to promote and support our teams in a variety of ways. Our cheer program is in a great position for continued success thanks to her leadership and dedication.”

Hart went on to state, “I am confident in what the candidate pool will bring, and I look forward to the potential opportunities this transition creates.”

“I truly enjoyed coaching so many talented athletes throughout my time at DWU. I am thankful for many wonderful memories made. I am excited to see the future of the cheer program under new leadership.” Loecker added.

A national search is already underway for the next head coach.
